Spiritual Leadership in the Global City

Event Launches New Organization

Saturday, September 20th, renowned author, speaker and humanitarian, Rev. Rick Warren will serve as the keynote speaker at the official launch event of the New York City Leadership Center (NY CLC). The “Spiritual Leadership in the Global City” event will provide attendees with an overview of the programming and curriculum of The NYCLC. “The purpose of The NYC Leadership Center,” says Dr. Mac Pier, President, “is to uniquely synergize the best training and service opportunities available, to radically impact Greater New York spiritually and socially. By uniting innovative leaders from churches and mission agencies with those from the marketplace, and by identifying emerging leaders, the Center will help encourage and accelerate the re-emergence of faith as a central component of urban life,” continued Pier. “In addition, we seek to transform individual lives through regional collaborative outreaches and service initiatives.”

Joining Dr. Pier and Rev. Warren on September 20th are Dr. A.R. Bernard, pastor of the Christian Cultural Center in Brooklyn; Jeremy Del Rio, Esq., director of Community Solutions Inc., a Manhattan- based holistic youth development agency; Rev. Gary Frost, director of Emerging Leadership for the NYCLC; Frances Hesselbein, Chairman of the Board of Governors of the Leader-to-Leader Institute (formerly the Peter Drucker Foundation for Nonprofit Management); Dr. David Ireland, pastor of Christ Church in Montclair, NJ; and Harry Tucker, a Leadership Incubator and Strategy Advisor for Fortune 100 companies.

Two simultaneous events will be held that Saturday from 9am to 5pm, one in Brooklyn at the Christian Cultural Center, and the other at the Great Auditorium in Ocean Grove, NJ.
