Youth:The Revolution

by Min. Jose Cruz, Jr.

The Bronx Revolution is a collaboration of local urban youth ministries, dedicated to transform the lives of young people throughout our city. We have believed in our hearts that this is a season of change. The time has come for us as leaders to stand united in the gap for this generation. It was for such a time as this that we were called and chosen. Our desire is to see God manifested in the lives of our teens and to spark a revival within this generation. This cannot happen from within the four walls of our sanctuaries. If we are going to impact this generation then an exodus must occur. We must leave the comfort and security of our churches and begin to function in the authority of our faith. James 2: 17 & 18 says, that without action faith is dead. James say's,“ show me your faith without your works and I will show you my faith by my works.” We need more than an emotional encounter. We need a supernatural experience. We need an exhibition of Gods love and power manifested through those who proclaim to be his children. This is why the Bronx Revolution was birthed. On August 9th 2008 in St. Mary’s Park, in the heart of the Bronx, youth will gather from different backgrounds and cultures to proclaim this city for Jesus Christ. We can continue to pray from within our churches for this generation or we can rise up, go out and get them. I think we have had church long enough. There is a whole generation out there waiting to be saved, a whole generation of fatherless young people that need to know the love of God. In Joshua 1:6, a promise is passed down to a new generation. God spoke to Joshua and said,” be strong and of good courage for to this people you shall divide as an inheritance the land, which I swore to their fathers to give them. The enemy has set up camp in our territory, and the time has come to take back what is ours. The secret is that it has already been promised. The land that Joshua set out to conquer was already his. But he had to possess it. We have been silent for to long. “It’s time for a revolution.” The American Heritage Dictionary describes a revolution as a sudden and momentous change in situation. Whatever our present situation, it shall not compare with the glory that is about to come. This land is ours. And the outcome of this battle has already been decided. Who will go?
