Going Through The Process

Jeremiah was born a priest, but he became a prophet by the divine call of God. The name Jeremiah means “Jehovah is High, or Exalted of God.” His call is described in Jeremiah chapter 1. In verse 6, he pleads with God. God gives him complete assurance that he would be strengthen for the task. Here Jeremiah went down to the potter’s house to hear the words of the Lord, that he could speak to the house of Israel. In chapter 18:6 it states, “O house of Israel, cannot I do with you as this potter? Saith the Lord. Behold, as the clay is in the potter’s hand, so are ye in mine hand, O house of Israel.” As a result of watching the potter throwing the clay, the illustration is clear, “He is the potter: we are the clay.” The clay was in the potter’s wheel, but for one reason or the other, maybe it was not acceptable to the potter; maybe the consistency was not right; maybe the size and shape was completely off. Whatever it was, the clay was not discarded; the potter would squeeze the clay into a mass and begin the task of reshaping the clay. Note: The clay is completely under control of the potter. He can do with it exactly as He likes. So are we in God’s hands. God has absolute control over his people and will direct our destiny according to His purpose. Romans 9:20-21 states, “Nay, but, O man, who art thou that repliest against God? Shall the thing formed say to Him that formed it, why hast thou made me thus? Hath not the potter power over the clay, of the same lump to make one vessel unto honour, and another unto dishonour.” ...So are ye in mine hand.”

Seasoned Saints: You were chosen in Him before the foundation of the world. He will go the distance, any place, under any circumstances or condition for you. As I write today I believe this is directed specifically to you my friend, and partner. Don’t despair, don’t give up, stay on track with Him. Every child of God goes through some difficult situations, but there is assurance in spite of our failures. My word to you today is taken from Philippians 1:6, “For I am confident of this very thing, that He who began a good work in you will perfect it until the day of Jesus Christ.”
